On February 25, 2010 Transaero Airlines General Director Olga Pleshakova was named a winner of a very prestigious Russian business award “Persona Goda" (“Person of the year") in the “Manager of the Year" nomination. Her professionalism as well as the results reached in 2009 by the company headed by her were highly recognized by the Expert Council which includes publicmen and politicians, top – managers of Russian leading companies, professional journalists and other celebrities.
Transaero Airlines continues to lead the Russian air transport industry in introduction of advanced service technologies with a new luggage tracing service. Transaero is the first and so far the only Russian airline to offer on-line luggage tracing through its website. This innovation is a result of a long-term cooperative effort between Transaero Airlines and SITA in the field of IT- solutions for airline business.
Transaero launches seven new flights to key destinations, including Hong Kong and Beijing in China, Qostanay in Kazakhstan and Yakutsk in the Russian Far East. The company also launches new routes from St Petersburg to Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy.
In October Transaero Airlines inaugurates regular flight from Moscow to New York and Miami in the USA. Also Transaero Airlines announces the start of operations from Moscow Domodedovo International Airport to the cities of Rostov-on-Don, Donetsk and Riga.
Transaero Airlines will use its Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) Platform from Lufthansa Systems. The Russian carrier recently signed a five-year agreement relating to the IOCC Platform and its components IOCC/Sched for schedule management, IOCC/Ops for operations control and IOCC/Crew for crew management. Transaero becomes the first passenger airline in Russia which will use all the mentioned components of IOCC Platform. Lufthansa Systems will operate these solutions in its data center as an Application Service Providing (ASP) model. The IOCC Platform is the first integrated IT platform able to control and monitor all aspects of airline operations which are closely interlinked in practice. It allows airlines to optimize the complex processes of their flight operations, resulting in considerable cost savings and added passenger satisfaction.
