Annual emergency rescue training takes place on decommissioned Boeing-737 and Boeing-747 aircrafts and includes door training, slide training (using Boeing-747 slides/rafts and Boeing-737 slides), and CEET (cabin emergency evacuation training) for every aircraft type.

Training in emergency rescue on water is carried out in a special pool at the Aerospace Medicine Centre (AMC). Trainees acquire skills in helping people in the water, surviving in water environment, and preserving heat and energy.

Joint cabin and flight crew training sessions are focused on coordination of efforts between the pilots and flight attendants and form an integral part of emergency rescue training. Such training sessions teach crewmembers to make independent decisions: what to do if the flight crew is completely or partially disabled, how to perform evacuation without assistance, what needs to be done in autonomous survival conditions, and how to survive individually or in groups in unknown and lesser-known climatic conditions and geographical locations (the Arctic, deserts, the tropics, jungle, and water spaces).

The cabin crew teaching staff consist of certified specialists with extensive practical experience who started their employment with Transaero Airlines as flight attendants and went through all career stages, eventually making it to flight attendant instructors.

Each instructor has undergone training at the Institute for Chief Executives and Specialists of the Industry of the University of Civil Aviation under the ATC instructors’ training program.

Our cabin crew instructors hold certificates issued by top foreign training centres:

  • Lufthansa Flight Training GmbH
  • British Airways
  • Finnair
  • Air France
  • KLM

Currently a new online flight attendant training program is being developed. This program will offer advanced training courses for active flight attendants, and will allow them to distribute the academic load as they see fit as well as ensure more efficient assimilation of the instructional material.

Regular monitoring includes surveys taken in the process of training, tests, exams, and practical testing of skills in actual flight conditions with feedback received from the Flight Attendant Service. Our flight attendants’ performance is the best testimony to outstanding instruction quality. All issues arising during flights become mandatory topics of discussion during advanced training courses and joint meetings of the Teaching Council and the Flight Attendant Service.
