Some Information About Our Activities
TRANSAERO won the Corporate Donor of Russia competition in 2008. We came out on top in the category entitled, “The Best Positive Living and Working Environment Program for People with Disabilities – Empowering the Physically Challenged."
TRANSAERO entered the competition with its unique “Back to the Future" partnership program with “Children", an independent non-profit organization supported by the Federal Research and Clinical Center for Child Hematology, Oncology and Immunology. “Back to the Future" is a family camp for the rehabilitation of children with cancer. A rehabilitation camp is a new cancer treatment technology for Russia. It helps to improve the quality of life for children with cancer, improve their social adaptation, and assist them to resume an active life after a lengthy period of treatment. The program has helped rehabilitate more than 200 children with a history of cancer or blood disease. “Back to the Future" was incorporated into the nation-wide federal Year of the Family program in 2008.
The Corporate Donor of Russia competition was organized by the Donor’s Forum non-profit partnership, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the Charity Promotion Commission of the Russian Public Chamber, in partnership with the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Russian Aid Fund and the UN office in Russia. The main goals of the competition, held for the first time in 2006, are to draw the attention of the public, government agencies and the media to corporate charitable activities, analyze and provide a professional assessment of corporate social investments, and identify the best practices, new trends and innovative models in corporate charitable activities.
A key social objective of TRANSAERO is to help improve the quality of life for physically challenged people through social programs and more affordable air transportation for disabled customers.
